• Photo Books require a minimum of 20 pages and can include up to 111 pages.
• Disney stickers and elements can only be used in Disney Photo Books.
• Photo Limits: 2,000 photos on the website and 1,000 in the app.
  • Autofill supports up to 800 photos.
• "All Pages" allows photo swapping and page rearrangement.
• Spread Layouts support Layflat Pages, Hinged Covers, and Deluxe Covers.
• Save regularly by selecting "Save" in the upper left.
• Photo Book cover and page sizes may vary by 1/8" to 1/4".
• Select the green heart to favorite Stickers and Backgrounds.
• Remove Layouts and Idea Pages added through "Get More..." by selecting the "X".

1. Upload photos and Click here to Select a Photo Book Style.
2. Select the Quantity, Book Size, Cover Type, Page Type, and optional Professional 6 Color Printing and Click "Personalize".
3. Click "Get Started" under Make It Myself.
4. Select a photo source.
5. Select photos and Click "Add to Project".
6. Choose either "I'll Place Manually" or "Autofill Photos".
7. Customize the Photo Book by:
   • Add spine text (available on the first page only), fonts, colors, and backgrounds.
   • Add stickers and text.
   • • See Adding & Editing Text.
8. Click "Book Info & Options" to update book settings and add:
   • Add a Memorabilia Pocket
   • Logo Removal
   • Professional 6-Color Printing
   • Gift Box

9. Review each page and Click "Preview" to see how the Photo Book will print.
10. Add to the cart and Checkout.

Upload Photos

• Upload photos to the Shutterfly account before starting a project.
• Social media photos may have a lower resolution.
  • Use the original image file when available.
• A low-resolution warning appears if a photo doesn't meet the minimum requirements.

Select Photo Book Style

1. Select a photo book style here.
2. Select the Quantity, Book Size, Cover Type, Page Type, and Professional 6 Color Printing (optional) and Click "Personalize".

3. Click "Get Started" under Design it Yourself.

1. Select where to select photos from.
   • Photos can be selected from the Shutterfly Account, Upload Photos, Get from Mobile, Amazon Photos, Google Photos, Facebook, or Shutterfly's Art Library.

2. Select photos to include and Click "Add to Project".

3. Select either "I'll Place Manually" or "Autofill Photos".

• I'll Place Manually: Adds the selected photos to the Photo Tray.
  • Photos need to be added manually to each page.
• Autofill Photos: Automatically adds images to the pages.
  1. Select Best photos, Most photos, or All photos.
  2. Select embellishment quantity: Few, Some, or Many.
  3. Type the title and optional subtitle.
  4. Click "Autofill My Book".

• A Cover Spread can be added to use a single photo to spread across the back, spine, and front cover of the Photo Book.

Add a Cover Spread

1. Select 'Layouts', Click Spread Covers, and Click the 'Layout' while on the cover of the Photo Book.

2. Click 'Photos' and Click on the desired photo to add it as a spread.

• Align, Distribute, & Match Size
  • These option can be seen by selecting Advance Edit or by holding Ctrl/Command and clicking 2 or more objects to see alignment options:
  • Align: Align objects to left, center, right, top, middle, or bottom.

• • Space: Distribute objects evenly horizontally or vertically.

• • Match: Match all objects to the widest, narrowest, tallest, or shortest.

• Adding & Editing Text

• After placing a photo on the page, adjustments may be needed.

• Click the photo to access the following actions:
• Edit
  • Crop: Use the guides to crop or Zoom in on the photo.

• • Auto Enhance: Helps improve print quality of everyday photos. Shutterfly recommends turning off this feature for professionally taken photos.

• • Filters: Change the filters of a photo as desired to: Original, Vintage, Sepia, Sunshine, Black & White, or Vibrant.
• Border: Select a border color and thickness, which can be applied to only the selected photos, all photos on the page, or all photos in the book.

• Rotate: Rotates the photo 90 degrees.
• Swap: Click on a photo, select the Swap button, and click another photo to swap with.

• Full Page: Makes the photo a full page photo. If there's more than one photo on the page the other photos will remain with the select photo as the background.
• Layering: Allows the images and stickers to be layered as desired.

• Remove: Remove the current photo, leaving the photo box available for adding a different photo if desired.
• Move and Crop/Pan Icon: The Crop/Pan icon appears as a hand or grabber tool. The Move icon appears as a 4-directional arrow.

• Turn the Advance Edit option on with the toggle button to easily see the following options:

• Click the pencil to change the project title. This does not change the printed cover or spine text.

• Click the drop-down arrow beside the price to view details.

• Information includes style, quantity, size, cover type, pages and binding, add-ons, total, and a Change Options button.

• Import Page(s): Click "Import Page(s)", Select the Photo Book, and Click "Import".

1. Select pages, Choose where to insert pages, and Click "Import Pages".

• • Auto Layout for All Pages: Turn Auto Layout on or off for all pages.

• • Move Photo Tray to Bottom: Available only in Spread View. Click the icon located on the left of the page to move the Photo Tray to the bottom.

• • • Click the icon on the bottom to move the Photo Tray to the left side again.

• • Reset Book: Remove photos, text, stickers, reset backgrounds, or remove extra pages. Apply to a single page, a spread, or the entire book.

• Spread View: Displays the book like a physical book with arrows to flip pages.

• Scrolling View: Scroll up or down to view pages.
• Arrange Pages: Drag and drop a page or spread to reorder.

• Warnings appear if issues may prevent proper printing.

  • Get More Photos: Add photos at any time.
  • Sort/Group: Sort photos by date added, date taken, or name. Group by Year, Month, Week, Day, or Hour.
  • Filters: Filter photos by Orientation, Location, People, or Tags.
  • Autofill: Replaces existing pages with a new photo arrangement.
  • Hide Used: Show only unused photos. Select again to show all photos.

• • Select a page and choose a layout.
  • Filter by page type, photo count, or Idea Pages.
  • Click "+More Layouts" for additional layouts (Single Page, Spread, Covers & Spine, Photos Per Page).

    • Photo Inspired: Creates captions based on the photo.
    • Theme: Suggests captions based on a selected event.
• Book Style

• • Change the Photo Book Style.
  • A warning appears advising that text, photos, layouts, and pricing will change; select Save a Copy before applying changes.

• Book Info & Options
  • Change the Photo Book Size, Cover Type, and Pages & Binding.
  • Select add‑ons such as Memorabilia Pocket, Logo Removal, Professional 6‑Color Printing, or Gift Box.

• Page, Layout, & Text Options
  • • Spread Options: Include Apply This Layout to All Pages, Flip Spread, Break Spread, Add New Spread Here, Duplicate This Spread, or Delete This Spread.
    • Shuffle Layout: Randomly changes the layout on the page.
    • Auto Layout: Applies a layout automatically when images are added.
    • Add Text Box
      • Add a text box to the page.
      • Change font, size, color, background, alignment, style, or remove the text box.
      • Drag to reposition.
      • Blank “Add Text” boxes will not print.
      • Text boxes auto‑resize lengthwise.
      • Use the black lines or white boxes to adjust the text box.

  • Click "Add to Cart" in the upper‑right corner after reviewing the book.
  • Click "Proceed to Cart", enter the quantity, and click "Checkout".

Add Pages

1. Click the green circle with the plus (+) sign at the top of the page.

2. Type in the number of pages to add, Select where to add the pages, and Click 'Add Page(s)'.

Delete Pages

1. Click 'Page Options' and Click 'Delete this page'.

2. Click 'Delete this Page'.

Copy and past images, text, or stickers from one page to another.

1. Use the Multi-Select feature to select the items/layout.

2. Use the keyboard shortcuts to copy.

   1. Keyboard hot keys: CTRL + C = Copy (Command + C for MAC)

   2. CTRL + V = Paste (Command + V for MAC)

3. Navigate to the desired page and Use the shortcuts to paste.

• Select multiple items by clicking, holding, and dragging the mouse across stickers, photos, and/or text boxes to move multiple items simultaneously.
• Keyboard shortcuts can also be used: Crtl + clicking each item (Command + clicking on MAC).
