The Card creation process remains consistent regardless of the selected size, type, or style. The following steps outline the basics for creating a card.

Helpful Tips
- Certain cards include text embedded in the design, which can't be changed.
- The Mail For Me option isn't available for all cards or envelopes.
Creating a Card Overview
- Sign in to Shutterfly, Click 'Cards & Stationery', and Click the type of Card desired.

- Select the desired Card.

- Make Card selections such as: Design Color, Trim, Paper Type, and Quantity and Click 'Personalize'.
- Some options may not be available for all Cards.

- Select where to upload photos from.
- Photos can be selected from the Shutterfly Account, Upload Photos, Get from Mobile, Amazon Photos, Google Photos, Facebook, or Shutterfly's Art Library.

- Select image to add to the Card and Click 'Add to Project'

- Select either 'I'll Place Manually' (doesn't add any photos to the card) or 'Autofill Photos' (automatically fills the card with photos).
- If 'Ill Place Manually' is selected, drag and drop photos to the desired location.

- Click the photos to make edits such as rotating, applying different filters, adjusting cropping, swapping photos, making a photo a background, or layering the image.

- Edit the sample text to what's desired or Add a Text Box.

- Change any layouts, backgrounds, embellishments, or paper/trim if desired.
- Select the desired Envelope and Slip-in Liner (optional) as desired.

- Select an addressing option such as No Addressing, Return Address Only, Address for Me, or Mail for Me.

- Preview the Card & Envelopes to ensure it prints as desired and Click 'Back to Edit' when done.

- Click 'Add to Cart' and Complete Checkout.

Design Options
- Card Title
- Click on the pencil to change the title of the Card.
- This won't change the actual text on the Card.
- Price Summary
- Click the drop-down arrow beside the price of the Cards to see more information.

- Information includes the Card Style, Quantity (can be adjusted), Paper Type, Trim, Envelopes, and Total.
- Project Options

- Save
- Hover over the project to see when the project was last saved, and Click the dropdown beside the Save icon to Save or Save As.
- 'Save' will save any updates made to the current project without creating a copy of the project.
- 'Save As' will save a new copy of the project without making any changes to the current project.

- Undo
- Reverse a previous action.
- Redo
- Reapply a previous action.
- Zoom In/Out
- Zoom out to view the entire project or zoom in for a closer look.
- Full Screen
- Allows the project to be viewed in full screen.
- Press ESC or click 'Exit Full Screen' to return to normal viewing mode.
- Card View Options

- Front
- View and make edits to the front of the Card.
- Back
- View and make edits to the back of the Card
- Envelope
- Choose from Plain White, Custom, Color, or Pre-Lined Envelopes, with options for Slip-in Liners.
- Available choices vary based on the selected card.

- Addressing

In the Addressing tab, options may include 'No Addressing', Return Address Only', Address for Me', and 'Mail For Me'.
- Preview
- Located in the upper right corner of the screen, the preview option shows how the Card will print.
- Use the Preview feature to ensure the Card looks as desired before ordering.
- Design Tools

- Photos
- + Get Photos
- Click at any time to add more photos to the project.
- Layouts
- Once photos are in the photo tray, the current layout can be used or changed.
- Click the Layout to apply it to the Card.
- Backgrounds
- Click the desired Background to apply it to the Card.
- Design Options (Not Available on All Cards)
- Allows the design color to be changed (if applicable).
- Paper, Trim
- Shows the current format and the option to change the Paper Type and Trim Options.
- Help
- Go to the Shutterfly Help Center to find more information on Cards.
- Card Layout & Text Options
- Shuffle Layout
- Randomly changes the Layout on the page.
- Add Text Box
- Click to add a text box to the Card.
- Change the font, size, color, background, align the text, set the style of the text, or remove the text box.
- Drag and drop the text box to move it anywhere on the Card.
- A Blank text box containing 'Add Text' won't print on the final Card.
- Use the black squares on either side of the text box to drag the text box to extend the box as desired.
- Warning(s)
- Warning such as Low Photo Resolution, Contains Sample Text, etc. is displayed.
- Click 'Edit' under the warning to be taken to the page to make edits.
- Add to Cart
- Click 'Add to Cart' in the upper-right corner after reviewing the Card and Envelope for accuracy.
- Click 'Proceed to Cart,' Ensure the quantity of Cards is correct, and Click 'Checkout.'
Edit Text
- Change the Font, Size, Color, Background, Alignment, or remove the text box if desired.
- If a text box is left blank, only the background will be printed in that space.
Edit Photos

- Edit
- Zoom
- Zoom in or out to change the view of the image on the card.
- Crop
- Use the white corner boxes to crop the image as desired.
- Enhance
- Enhance the photo by using Auto enhance or a Filter: Original, Vintage, Sepia, Sunshine, Black & White, or Vibrant if desired.
- Rotate
- Click to rotate the image 90 degrees.
- Swap
- Click Swap and click on the desired image to swap with.
- Full Page
- Click to make the image the full page/background.
- Layering
- Bring the image to the front, bring forward, send backward, or send to back.
- Remove
- Remove the image from the card.

- If a Low Resolution warning is displayed the resolution of the photo is too low for the selected card.
- Photos that fall below the recommended resolution guidelines may look good when viewed online, but will appear blurry and pixilated (blocky, with jagged rather than straight edges) when enlarged and printed.
- Check the Photo Resolution:
- Click 'Photos' on the Shutterfly homepage in the upper right corner.
- Find the photo and Double-click.
- Find the 'Resolution' to the right of the photo.
- Note: Resolution doesn't indicate the clarity of the original photograph.
- Ensure the photo isn't burry or out of focus even if the resolution is sufficient.
