Here Are The Details

Effective July 1, 2024, Minnesota imposed a $0.50 Road Improvement and Food Delivery Fee on all deliveries $100 or more by motor vehicle to a location in Minnesota with at least one item of tangible personal property subject to state sales or use tax. Click here for more details from the Minnesota Department of Revenue.

FAQs

When does the fee apply? 

  • The fee applies to any order $100 or more containing taxable items shipped to a Minnesota address. 


Do direct mail orders include the fee? 

  • Direct mail orders of $100 or more with at least one Minnesota recipient are subject to the fee. 


Do in-store pickup orders include the fee? 

  • In-store pickup orders in Minnesota are not subject to the fee since they are not shipped to a Minnesota address. 

 

Do orders with free promotional products include the fee? 

  • Orders with free promotional products are still subject to the fee if taxes are applied based on item value and the order is shipped to Minnesota.
