When an order is placed on Shutterfly, a pending charge for the full order amount will appear on the bank account used to place the order. This pending charge may also be referred to as a ”pre-authorization,” “authorization hold,” or a “pre-charge”. This authorization reserves the necessary funds until the payment is processed or the order ships.
