Helpful Tips
- The minimum number of pages for a Photo Book is 20, and the maximum is 111.
Warnings
Text or photo is too close to page edge
- Maintain approximately a 3/4" margin around all edges of the photo book page (excluding the seam for Layflat pages) to prevent trimming of photos, objects, or text boxes.
- Adjust the position of the text or photo box until the caution icon no longer appears.
Text Doesn’t Fit
- Text may not fit in a text box due to extra spaces or line breaks added by pressing the return key.
- Decorative fonts may trigger a warning if loops or flourishes extend beyond the text box and risk being cut off.
- To resolve, remove extra spaces, shorten the text, adjust the font size or style, or resize the text box (if available).
Text
Spell Check
- Shutterfly doesn't offer a built-in spell check feature.
- However, most browsers provide spell check functionality that is compatible with the site.
- Misspelled words or unrecognized names may appear underlined in red.
- In the Edit Text dialog, right-click on the highlighted word to view suggested corrections or select 'Add to my dictionary' to prevent future alerts for that word.
- Always preview the Photo Book carefully before placing an order to ensure all text is free of spelling errors.
Text Limit
- There's no specific character limit when entering text in a text box.
- The amount of text that fits within a layout depends on the selected font and size.

- Replace the Layout with one that doesn't have this symbol.
- Review the type of Stickers on the Cover only of the Photo Book.
- Any Sticker with a dollar sign in a gold triangle represents a Metallic Accent.
- Replace the Stickers with ones that don't have this symbol.
- Once the Layout and all Stickers have been updated to ones that don't contain the dollar sign and gold triangle symbol, the price of the Photo Book will be automatically updated to remove the Metallic Accent charge.
Using Special Characters
Shutterfly is unable to fully support foreign languages, some extra characters not used in the English language, graphics characters, symbols, or mathematical symbols. Some special characters used in foreign languages are supported.
