Photo Book projects are interchangeable between the app and desktop. Here are some tips for navigating the creation path within the app.

Helpful Tips
- Photo Books require a minimum of 20 pages and can include up to 111 pages.
- Disney stickers and other elements are only available for Disney-themed Photo Book.
- Up to 1,000 photos can be used when creating a Photo Book on the website or mobile app.
- The "All Pages" view provides a full project overview and supports photo swapping and page rearrangement.
- Spread Layouts are optimized for Layflat Pages and support Hinged or Deluxe Covers.
- Photo Book cover and page size may vary by 1/4" to 1/8".
Creating a Photo Book Overview
- Upload Photos to Shutterfly.
- Select a Photo Book style.
- Select the Quantity, Book Size, Cover Type, Page Type, and Professional 6 Color Printing (optional), and Tap 'Personalize'.
- Select a photo source: the device, Shutterfly, Amazon Photos, Google Photos, or Facebook.
- Select photos to include in the Photo Book and Tap 'Add'.
- Select either "I'll Place Manually" or "Autofill Photos".
- Tap the spine of the Photo Book (only shown on the first page) and Add desired text, font, color, background, etc.
- Add any desired stickers.
- Add any desired text.
- Tap "Book Info & Options" to change the Book Size, Cover Type or Pages and Binding.
- Tap the three horizontal dots at the top right of the page, Select Book Upgrades, and Select any other desired options under "Book Upgrades" such as:
- Gift Box
- Logo Removal
- Add a Memorabilia Pocket
- Professional 6-Color Printing
- Review each page of the Photo Book.
- Tap the three horizontal dots at the top right of the page and Tap "Preview" to review each page as it will print.
- Add the Photo Book to the cart and Checkout.
Photo Book Editing Options Overview

- Photos
- Select photos or Add photos to the project.
- Tap a page and Tap a photo to add it to the page.
- See Edit Photos for more information.
- Layouts
- Change the Layout on the pages or spread based on the number of photos.
- Suggest
- Tap to view suggested layouts based on what's currently on the page.
- Background
- Select a desired background based on Recommended, Patterns, or Colors.
- Tap the page and tap the desired background to add it to the page.
- Stickers
- Tap the desired sticker to add it to a page.
- Tap the sticker and drag a corner or side to resize.
- Tap and drag to move the sticker on the page.
- Text
Getting Started
Upload Photos
- To ensure optimal quality, upload photos to the Shutterfly account before starting a project.
- Photos sourced from social media platforms like Facebook may have lower resolution but can still be used.
- Whenever possible, use the original image file.
- If a photo fails to meet the minimum resolution requirement, a low-resolution warning will appear.

Select Photo Book Style
- Choose from a variety of Photo Book styles offered by Shutterfly.
- Select a photo book style.
- Select the Quantity, Book Size, Cover Type, Page Type, and Professional 6 Color Printing (optional) and Tap "Personalize".
Add Photos to Project
- Tap 'Select Photos' from the pop-up screen.
- Photos can be selected from the device, Shutterfly Account, Amazon Photos, Google Photos, or Facebook.
- Select the photos to include and Tap 'Add'.

- Select either "I'll Place Manually" or "Autofill Photos".
- I'll Place Manually: Adds the selected photos to the Photo Tray.
- Photos need to be added manually to each page.
- Autofill Photos: Automatically add images to the pages.
- Select Best Photos, Most Photos, or All Photos.
- Select Photo Size and Layout: Large Photos, Medium Photos, or Small Photos.
- The larger the photos, the more pages the Photo Book will contain.
- Select the Design Elements (embellishment quantity): Few, Some, or Many.

Photo/Text Adjustments
- Align, Distribute, & Match Size
- To use this feature, open the project on the website.
- Adding & Editing Text
- Layering
- Use 'Layering to bring items forward or backward.
- Tap the item and Tap either 'Backward' or 'Forward' to change the position of the item.

Edit Photos
- After placing a photo on the page, adjustments may be needed.
- Tap the photo to access the following actions:
- Crop
- Tap the photo, Tap Crop, and Adjust the crop as desired.
- Tap the boxes with the arrow at the bottom to rotate the image left or right.

- Swap
- Swap photos to change the photo position.
- Tap the photo, Tap 'Swap, and Tap a photo to swap with.

- Border
- Add a border and select a color and thickness.
- Tap the photo and Tap 'Border
- Remove
- Remove the image but leaves the empty photo box.
- Rotate
- Rotates the selected photo 90 degrees.
- Duplicate
- Make an exact copy of the selected image.
- Backward
- Layers the image at the back of other images or text.
- Forward
- Layers the image at the front of other images or text.
Add/Edit Text
- Tap the 'Text' icon at the bottom of the screen and Tap '+ Add Text'.
- Tap Edit, Enter text, and Tap 'Done'.
- Tap and Hold one of the four corners and Drag it to the desired size.
- Tap and Drag to move the text box.
Additional Text Box Options
- Once a text box has been added, tap 'Edit' to see the following options on the bottom toolbar.

- Text
- Tap to begin entering text into the text box.
- Size
- Use the minus (-) and plus (+) icons to increase or decrease the font size.
- Use the first set of boxes to select the location of the text top, middle, or bottom.
- Use the last set of boxes to adjust the justification of the text left, center, or right.
- Font
- Tap to select a font style.
- Color
- Tap the desired text color.
- Scroll down to see more colors.
- Remove
- Remove the text box completely.
- Duplicate
- Creates an exact copy of the text box with the saved font, color, etc.
- Rotate
- Allows the text box to be rotated to any desired degree.
Page Layout Options

- Show all pages in the Photo Book and allow scrolling down to see the different pages in the book.
- Tap the plus sign (+) to add a spread.
- Tap the three vertical dots under each page to be given the options to move pages: Move up, Move down, or Move after pages.

- Shows only two pages (a spread) of the Photo Book at a time.
- Scroll through the spreads by using the left and right arrow buttons below the pages.
- Page

- Shows only one page of the Photo Book at a time.
- Scroll through the pages by using the left and right arrow buttons below the pages.

Additional Options
- Tap three horizontal dots at the top right to see additional options.
- Add 2 Pages
- Add 2 pages after the current page.
- Remove 2 Pages
- Remove the two current pages shown.
- Merge Pages
- Add the same background to both pages.
- Clear Page/Spread
- Remove all images, text, and embellishments from the page or spread.
- Preview
- Preview how the Photo Book should print.
- Book Upgrades
- Select from the following optional options:
- Cover Type
- Page Type
- Gift Box
- Remove Logo
- Memorabilia Pocket
- Professional 6-Color Printing
- Autofill Book
- Remove everything from the entire Photo Book and autofill the book with images, replacing all of the pages.
- Save Project
- This option allows the Photo Book to be manually saved.
- It is recommended to tap this option before closing out or ordering the project to ensure all updates are saved.
- Pricing & Info
- Pricing displays the following Photo Book information:
- Style
- Size
- Quantity & Price
- Cover Type & Price
- Additional Pages & Price
- Any Additional Features Added
- Grand Total
- Information displays the current size of the Photo Book.
- Help Center
- Visit the Help Center for Help Articles, Shutterfly contact information, tutorials, and guidance.
- Clear Book
- This will remove all photos, text, and embellishments from the book.
- An option will be provided to save a copy of the original book in saved projects.
