• Gift Cards can be purchased in retail stores.
• Gift Certificates can be purchased online through the Shutterfly website.

• Gift Cards/Certificates do not expire and can be used to buy items from Shutterfly, including all photo gifts and bulk plans. 

• Gift Cards/Certificates can cover the cost of products only and won't apply to any applicable sales tax and shipping.

• If the order total is less than the Gift Card/Certificate value, the remaining balance will be saved in the account for future use.

• If the order total exceeds the Gift Card/Certificate value, the remaining balance must be paid at checkout.

• Multiple Gift Cards/Certificates can be saved to an account and used for ordering. 
• Gift Cards/Certificates are unable to be used for in-store pickup orders (at CVS), or on any branded sites.

• Credit Card information is required for verifications purposes when using a Gift Card/Certificate to pay for an order.
  • If the Gift Card/Certificate amount exceeds the order total, no charge will be applied to the Credit Card.

1. Type Gift Certificate in the search bar on the Shutterfly homepage, Press 'Enter', and Click 'Gift Certificates'.

2. Select the desired Gift Certificate amount, Select the date to send the Gift Certificate, Enter the recipient's name, Enter the recipient's email address, Enter who the Gift Certificate is being sent from, Enter a message (if desired), and Click 'Add to Cart'.

3. Click 'Proceed to checkout'.

4. Complete Checkout.

   • A Confirmation page will be displayed showing all information regarding the Gift Certificate purchase.

• After purchase, a Gift Certificate is delivered by email to the recipient email address provided during checkout on the date selected for delivery.

1. Check the inbox associated with the recipient email address for the Gift Certificate email and Open the email.  
2. Click the 'Redeem' button within the email.

3. Click 'Redeem' to redeem the Gift Certificate directly in the account. 

• • If there's at least one item in the Cart, the Gift Certificate Code can also be entered within Checkout in the Promo Code / Gift Certificates / Gift Cards box.
  • A green conformation box will appear advising the Gift Certificate has been added to the account.

1. Sign in to the Shutterfly account.
2. Click 'Hi, (Your Name)' and Click 'Account & Settings'. 

3. Click 'Gift Cards & Prepaids,' Enter the 19-character code in the box, Enter the pin number in the box, and Click 'Apply'.

• A message will confirm the successful entry of the Gift Certificate, along with the current balance.

• "This gift certificate code is not valid."
  • Characters may have been omitted or entered incorrectly and the code should be double-checked for accuracy. 
    
    • Common issues include mixing up letters and numbers (e.g., O vs. 0 or I vs. 1).
  • If purchased from a retail location, this message might indicate the Gift Card wasn't properly activated at checkout. 
    
    • Verify activation by checking the receipt. 
      
      • If not activated, return to the place of purchase with the receipt for activation. 
         
• "This gift certificate code has already been redeemed."
  • Once entered, a Gift Card code is stored in the account until fully used. 
    
    • Ensure the code hasn't already been entered in the account. 
  • If sure the code is correct and hasn't been previously entered, refer to the previous explanation for correct entry.

To check a Gift Certificate balance, complete the following steps.

1. Complete steps 1-3 from above. 

2. View the Gift Card Balance.
